Our Balboa Park tour is approximately 3 hours (including safety instructions and hands on training).  Your rolling expedition begins at our headquarters on Harbor Drive. After watching  a brief training video, mount your wheeled steed and perfect the Segway basics. Once you're an accomplished rider, our fantastic tour guides will regale you with stories and facts of San Diego's past as you traverse the city on your way to the park. 

 

As you enter the park you will be astonished by its size and beauty. Balboa Park is the nation's largest urban cultural park. Home to 15 major museums, renowned performing arts venues, beautiful gardens and the San Diego Zoo.  Glide past the world's largest outdoor pipe organ. Weave through the forest of trees along the park's vast network of paths and navigate past the San Diego Zoo. Cruise down El Prado and past the park's stunning Spanish Renaissance style buildings, styled to resemble the ornamented Spanish churches in Mexico. Our Downtown Gaslamp Waterfront Tour is approximately 2 hours (including safety instructions and hands on training). This tour takes you through the heart of downtown San Diego’s architectural wonders, distinct districts, and alongside the eclectic Embarcadero Waterfront. You’ll glide along cobblestone pathways and soak up views of popular sculptures, as well learn much about the city’s history. Our friendly and knowledgeable tour guides will let you in on all the city’s secrets from yesterday and today. We keep each tour group small and intimate to assure thorough Segway training and orientation, as well as maximum gliding enjoyment.

   
 

Trevor Stonehouse - A southern California native, Trevor is a fun and energetic tour guide. Don't let his laid back style fool you - he will keep you amazed by the unique history and fun sights of San Diego as you tour around on a Segway. Trevor's favorite views are of the white sandy beaches and San Diego Bay, especially when it's full of sail boats. He’s been with San Diego Segway Tours’ parent company Wheel Fun Rentals for many years having previously worked at the corporate office and rental locations in San Francisco as well as Ventura. With Trevor as your tour guide, you can rest assured you'll have a good time.

 

 
  Japhet Benavides - Japhet, who was born and raised in San Diego, loves being able to show off his hometown. His passion and pride for the city made the transition to tour guide an easy one. Japhet has been an avid cyclist for as long as he can remember. He’s a skilled mechanic, as well, working on everything from bikes to cars. In his spare time, he likes to take his own tours of San Diego on his bike. You can rest assured that you’ll learn a ton about San Diego from this knowledgeable native!   
  Kathleen Jacobs - Kat is a San Diego native, born and raised, who currently lives in Chula Vista. She started guiding tours in her hometown when she heard about the opportunity to meet new people and spend time outside in the beautiful city of San Diego every day. She recommends a trip to the Mission Beach Boardwalk for those who haven’t been. Kat knows a ton about San Diego and its surrounding communities, so ask her for some insider information on lesser-known local gems for the best dining and entertainment. She knows what she’s talking about!   
    Mike Gonzales - Originally from Oregon, Mike describes San Diego as “the city where dreams are made and Mexican food is available 24/7.” La Jolla Cove, Burger Lounge, and the Gaslamp District are some of his favorite San Diego destinations, but he’d rather be at the beach! His sense of humor makes every tour enjoyable, and his knowledge of the city will impress even the most knowledgeable locals.   
  Sam Campos - Born and raised in sunny San Diego, Samuel first joined the Wheel Fun Rental family as a Surrey tour guide on Coronado Island. With his upbeat attitude and in-depth knowledge of San Diego, Samuel is a natural tour guide and enjoys taking groups on a tour of "my own city and seeing the beautiful California weather." When he’s not busy gliding along on a Segway, you can probably find Samuel at any one of his favorite San Diego locations - Hodad’s, Sunset Cliffs, or the Gaslamp District.   
  Kitty Bermudez  - When she’s not busy honing her hobby of taking photos “of all the beautiful views found all over San Diego,” you’ll be able to find Kitty guiding Segway tours around the city! Born and raised in Southern California, Kitty can’t wait to guide her Segway guests through San Diego’s sights and sounds. Her favorite place in San Diego is Sunset Cliffs - Kitty says she recommends the cliffs for a romantic date or even a date with your dog!   
 
Rachael Rose Beyer  - With a healthy dose of wanderlust and appetite for learning, Rachael is ready to share her wealth of knowledge of San Diego with you! Having lived all over the West Coast, Rachael now calls San Diego home and loves the abundance of attractions dotting the city. From concerts in the park and paddle boarding on the bay, Rachael enjoys never having a dull moment in her adopted city! While she’s not gliding on a Segway, you can find this spunky part-time neuroscience researcher and student enjoying Nutella gelato in Little Italy. And if you’re not already impressed with her array of achievements and interests: she speaks German too!   

Arean Govand  - A San Diego native, Arean’s love of meeting new people and exploring his city suit him well to guide guests around town. When he’s not enchanting guests, you might be able to find Arean practicing his ukulele at San Diego’s’ popular Ocean Beach.You’ll be sure to have a great time and make memories that you won’t soon forget with Arean!
